Nominations are now being accepted for the 2012 British tennis Volunteer of the Year awards.
The British tennis Volunteer Awards are aimed at recognising those volunteers who give so much of their time to the sport; from working behind the scenes as a committee member to organising local leagues and building relationships to positively promote the sport.
The LTA will recognise a volunteer from each of the seven regions/nations: East, South East, South West, Midlands, North, Scotland and Wales.
There are 10 award categories in total including three national award categories and seven regional categories recognising volunteers who contribute a significant amount of time and energy providing tennis opportunities for their local community.
The national award categories are:

Is there someone you know who has spent many hours over a number of years developing tennis and providing opportunities for others to get involved in the sport?
Providing competitive opportunities for juniors and adults is vital if we are to keep people of all standards engaged in the sport and find champions of the future. Do you know a volunteer who organises a significant amount of competition at their place to play or County leagues that provide competitive opportunities for hundreds of adult club players?
We are also looking to recognise a volunteer from each of our seven regions who has played a key role in developing and delivering tennis in their local community. Is there a volunteer in your region who has made a significant contribution to tennis that you would like to see recognised?
They could have set up a new club at a park site, provided opportunities for people new to the sport to get involved, driven a facility project at your club or been your club's treasurer for the 20 years ensuring your club is sustainable for many years to come. The seven regions are:
Each category winner will be invited, along with one guest, to the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in November, held at The O2 arena, London.
