John Trehearn chats with Ali Collins at change of ends
Great Britain have narrowly missed out on receiving a medal position at the 12 & under Tennis Europe Winter Cups event in Sheffield after being defeated by the Czech Republic yesterday.
First on court was Maria Budin who was defeated by Anna Kynclova 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.
Next, in another three set battle, was Ali Collins who played in a match that lasted three hours and five minutes against Lucie Kankova who defeated the Briton 3-6, 7-6(3) 7-5.
Donia Abdel-Aziz & Maria Budin took on Anna Kynclova & Sabina Drabkova in the doubles but lost out 6-4, 6-1.
The GB girls will now take on the Slovak republic in a bid to reach fifth place.
