British veterans are performing well at the ITF Seniors World Team Championships which are taking place in San Diego, USA, this week.
Great Britain are in the final stages of a number of different events including the Men’s 35, 45 & 55 and the Women’s 35, 50 & 55 teams.
In the men’s 55 GB are into the semi-finals where they will now play USA in the Austria Cup. The women’s 55 team are also playing USA, in the final of the Maureen Connolly Cup.
The men’s 35 team are into the semi-finals of the Italia Cup where they will play top seeds Spain for a place in the final. GB Women’s 35 team are in the final of the Suzanne Lenglen Cup and will play top seeds France for the title.
GB player Lucie Ahl commented: "[It's] gone really well so far, played very well beating a tough Spanish team, play the holders France today in the final.
"Great GB team spirit out here, all the teams have been doing very well, medal chances in a lot of the age groups."
The women’s 50 team are in the semi-finals of the Maria Esther Bueno Cup and will play top seeds USA for a place in the final.
The men’s 45 team are in the semi-finals as well, in the Dubler Cup and will meet top seeds France for a place in the final.
Gone really well so far, played very well beating a tough Spanish team, play the holders France today in the final. Great GB team spirit out here, all the teams have been doing very well- medal chances in a lot of the age groups.
