Kyle Edmund has been nominated for the 2012 Young Sports Personality of the Year in recognition of his success over the last 12 months.
In October, 17 year-old Edmund won his first professional title at the USA F29 Futures in Birmingham, Alabama by defeating Chase Buchanan in a three set final, a month after claiming the boys’ doubles title at the US Open alongside Portuguese partner Frederico Ferreira Silva.
Edmund also reached the quarter-finals of the boys’ singles the Australian and French Open.
The shortlist was drawn up from nominations made by a panel of judges chaired by BBC Sport's John Inverdale.
As well as compiling the shortlist, the panel choose their top three and their winner by secret ballot.
The top three will be announced mid-December and the winner will be announced live at BBC Sports Personality of the Year, taking place at ExCel in London on Sunday, 16 December.
