Yorkshire Players have made their mark at the Tennis Europe U14 event in Belgium.
Jonathan Gray of Carnegie Club, Leeds and Molly Reed of Hallamshire have each reached the Semi Finals in the Boys Singles and Girls Doubles respectively.
Gray dropped only one set on his way to the Semi Final. He won his quarter final match against Spanish player Gonzalo Morell Raschiatore 7-6 (2), 6-1 to set up a match against 6th seed Ronny Georgi of Germany. The German player proved too strong for Gray and set up his final match by winning 6-1, 6-2.
In the Girls Doubles Draw, Reed, partnered by Mille Stretton of Blackhall LTC in East Scotland, won their quarter final match against Belgium's Mathilde Devits and Vicky Geurinckx 6-3, 6-4 to set up a semi final against another Belgian pairing, Morgane Michiels and Greetje Minnen who were the No 1 seeds in the draw.
The British pair lost the first set 6-4 but fought back in the second, winning 4-6, to take the match to a third deciding set. The Belgian pair proved their seeding status and took this set 10-2 and went on to win the tournament overall.
