Snow & Skins Tennis @ Beechwood Tennis Club!

Let it snow let it snow let it snow, not to be beaten by the weather Beechwood in Coventry postponed their Christmas Handicap Tournament due to bad weather. It was too much for some of them so finally out of frustration on Sunday 20th December 2009 they cleaned the line markings and the men’s Christmas Handicap was on.

The final four played 3 sets with eventual winners Tim Webb & Mik Hennessy beating Ian Allcoat & Dave Goodall. (picture names as lined up)

Mik had drawn a 1st team player (Tim Webb) so had to choose a handicap. Play left handed or without a shirt.

Mik decided to play without a shirt and said, ‘where there’s a will there’s a way once we got playing it wasn’t too cold, the game was all a bit of fun’.

Traditionally we have a get together/party at Christmas after the Handicap at the club and all members are invited to bring nibbles and the club provides warm Mulled Wine. There was a few raised eyebrows when they came down the drive to see Mik playing topless.
