Mixed Fortunes for Somerset County Teams

The Somerset Under 18 Girls Team Captained by Simon & Sarah Woodhill played in the County Cup in Sunderland over three days (19th, 20th & 21st Feb). The team played three over counties, East of Scotland, South of Scotland and Cumbria. Beating two (Cumbria & South of Scotland) of the three counties the young somerset team finished second in division 6 gaining some good experience for the future. Many of the somerset team have three years of more left in the under 18 category. Each match consists of six singles and three doubles per day.
 
Also the Somerset U18 Boys team played in division 2 at Redbridge, unfortunately defeats to Hertfordshire and Warwickshire meant that the team have been relegated to division 3, despite managing to overcome Essex. Team captain Shaun Carroll remained upbeat and confident that the team will return to division two next year.
