Whitecraigs LT&SC coach Callum Neil has been named the AEGON Coach of the Month for February and was this week presented with his award by Tennis Scotland's Development Manager, Mike Cohen.
In the past year Callum has dedicated a great deal of time to training the mini tennis players at the club, providing numerous individual and squad lessons, including specialist performance squads. He's also been organising and attending numerous tournaments, regional matchplay events and Talent ID days to allow him to provide more focused lessons for the children.
His results in the last 12 months speak for themselves with 5 of his mini red players progressing to the West of Scotland County ID level and they are now training with the Glasgow Performance squad, with two boys, one born in 2003, having progressed to the Regional ID level.
This is more than any other club in the West of Scotland and on average the largest contingent of players competing in West of Scotland tournament are members of Whitecraigs LT&SC, being trained under Callum's supervision. The children have all attained Red 2 ratings with some achieving a Red 1 rating more than a year early.
David Wilson, the father of Ben Wilson, one of Callum's Red 1 rated players, believes "all Callum's efforts are justly rewarded in winning the coach of the month award".
Congratulations to Callum on receiving this award.
