Central / Tayside Tournament Circuit Underway

The Central / Tayside Tournament Circuit sponsored by Contract Scotland has just completed its second weekend of competition.

The circuit is open to players from any District, and is comprised of over 100 one day events for all age groups.  In August, the top performing Red, Orange and Green players will be invited back to battle it out in the Masters finals.
 
This weekend just gone, there were two events at Linlithgow Tennis Club and an event at the Gannochy, Stirling University.  On Saturday, there was an under 13 event at Linlithgow which attracted 14 players (see photo attached), with the overall winner being Andrew Haston from Linlithgow Tennis Club.  On the Sunday there was an under 16 event at Linlithgow Tennis Club which attracted 11 players.
 
On Sunday there was a Mini Orange competition at the Gannochy, Stirling University where 20 kids competed.  The overall winner on the day was Ruth Blaikie from Kinnoull tennis club.
 
The circuit is organised by Adam Brown and Jane Morrison.  Adam said "The circuit has got off to a great start, this weekend we had 45 players competing in our competitions, as well as having 16 competing in a friendly match between Tayside and Central on the Sunday, so we had over 60 players competing.  It is great to see so many players wanting to compete, as they are starting to realise that this is the best way for them to improve".
