Vets Championships Set To Be An International Affair

An international field of 235 competitors is set to battle it out in Glasgow next week when the ITF Scottish Vets Indoor Championships gets underway on Thursday 25th February.

Players travelling from Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Ireland and England will be challenging for the various age groups titles against Scotland's finest at the event which is taking place across three sites - Scotstoun, the Gorbals and David Lloyd West End.

Meanwhile, Scottish veterans will be pleased to learn that South Africa's Western Province Tennis Association has paid tribute to their outgoing President, Ian Campbell.  The Scot, who has lived in South Africa since the 1950's, had served for twenty two years on the Provincial Executive.  As a tribute to Ian, a Scottish internationalist who played at Wimbledon, the Western Province Veterans circuit is to be known as "the WPTA Ian Campbell Veterans Circuit."
