Dundee's Alice Keddie and Cupar's Russell Graham are the top seeds as the Scottish Indoor 14 and under Championships get underway at the Westburn Tennis Centre in Aberdeen.
13 year old Keddie, a pupil at St George's School in Edinburgh was recently named in Team AEGON by the Lawn Tennis Association. She is due to play her first match on Saturday against either local girl Morven Duff (Cults LTC) or Northern Ireland's Lucy Octave. Millie Stretton (Barnton Park LTC), 12, who last weekend defeated Stirling University's Hannah Pickford, the number 2 seed, at the Scottish Indoor Open Championships is a potential opponent in the semi-finals.
In the other half of the draw, second seed, Stirling's Natalie Syme faces either Zoe Sinclair (Ayr) or Kirsty Venter (Edinburgh) in her first match. Athena Chrysanthou, making the long journey up from Cornwall where she will face unseeded Georgia Paterson from Stirling for a place in the quarter finals.
In the boy's event, number one seed, Graham (Kinnoull LTC) plays either Mark Watt (Strathgryffe LTC) or Kent's David Gardiner to progress to the quarter finals, where fifth seed Ruaridh Macleod of the David Lloyd Club, Dundee, is a potential opponent.
Stirling's Vincent Gillespie, the second seed, takes on either Donald Menzies (Edinburgh) or Lasswade's Karsten Kraak in the second round match up.
The finals are set to be played on Sunday, starting no earlier than 12:30 and entrance is free to all spectators. The referee is John Purcell (07753 895048).
