You could be fooled into thinking that this picture is of a glorious day in the middle of the summer, when seasonal tennis fans pick up a racquet on the back of the Wimbledon fortnight.
But this is a cool Saturday afternoon in November at the Meadows in Edinburgh. Although Wimbledon, Pimms, and strawberries and cream are all long gone, tennis is being enjoyed on all 16 courts and there is a queue of people waiting to get on and play.
It may be the Murray effect, it may be the quality free-to-use public courts, but whatever the reason, these people are thoroughly enjoying their tennis in a beautiful location and are a shining example of how tennis in Scotland is booming at the moment.
