Oxfordshire 18&U Boys County Cup Team narrowly miss promotion

Oxfordshire Boys U18 Team had a fantastic weekend narrowly missing out on promotion to Berkshire.

The boys travelled to Barnstaple to play in Group 5A in the AEGON 18U County Cup. The weekend started with them racing to a 9-0 win only dropping one set all day against Cornwall. Day two saw the boys winning 6-3 against Hereford & Worcestershire. It was all to play for on day three in the match against Berkshire, unfortunately the Berkshire boys proved too strong and Oxfordshire lost the match 4-5.

The team was captained by Jon Maskens who said 'I would like to thank my team Bradley, Joshy, Josh D, Josh C, Tom, Tim and Joel and a special thanks to Danny Lythgoe as he was drafted in at short notice and didn't get a match but was a great supporter and hitting partner to all the boys all weekend. Also many thanks go to Paul Butcher who drove the mini bus all weekend and assisted me as well. With all the boy's available next year and more potential players coming through I look forward to another promotion battle next year.'
