Cramlington CTP has been awarded Beacon Status by the Tennis Foundation.
Full Beacon Status is in recognition of Cramlington’s public facility offering the local community a sustainable, fun and affordable tennis experience.
Jane Grey (Club Chairman) and Phil Barron (Head Coach), along with the volunteers and everyone involved with the programme will shortly be receiving a Beacon Plaque which will be delivered by a member of the Tennis Foundation Team.
Jane couldn’t hide her excitement,
“Wow, we didn’t expect this, what an achievement!”
Jo Cunliffe, Tennis Development Manager for Northumberland highlighted her delight,
“Cramlington CTP deserves everything they aim to achieve. Whenever we see Jane and Phil we are blown away at what they continue to achieve at Alexandra Park and the local Sporting Club. Now with Full Beacon status they will be able to get involved with many more opportunities to grow and develop”.
As part of the AEGON Parks Programme site they will benefit from a range of additional things including promotion of the Beacon site on www.eparktennis.com, AEGON PARKS TENNIS marketing pack including windbreaks to name a few.
In essence the AEGON Parks programme is creating a great environment for tennis to grow and develop with a network of Beacons and Self Service units in Parks. Find your nearest public courts, link up with other players, create tournaments and interact with tennis forums. For further information about Beacon Sites please go to www.eparktennis.com
