Verena Scott wins ITF doubles title in Qatar

Verena Scott and her partner Dong from Canada the number 4 seeds defeated HIETANIEMI (FIN) / NAGPAL (IND) 6-2 1-6 [10-6] in the Qatar Girls Doubles Final.

Verena's history includes appearances in two ITF doubles finals in Canada and Mexico last summer so it's third time lucky in Qatar. The points she gained last week will move her up to 651 in the rankings.
 
She entered the second Qatar ITF this week (seeded 5). She won her first round easily (6-0, 6-0) but unfortunately sprained an ankle training before her second round match and had to pull out of the tournament. Nevertheless the points she picked up will push her up to around 600 in next week's rankings.
 
Unfortunately she was due to meet up with the 18&U County Cup team in Nottingham this weekend when she returns from Qatar but has also had to withdraw from the cup team as well due to the injury. Let's hope she gets back to full fitness soon!
