Queenswood win National Schools Title

The AEGON Team Tennis Schools Year 8 and 10 finals took place over the weekend at the Bolton Arena, Lancashire.

In the Year 8 competition, Queenswood School secured the girls’ title after winning thirty-two matches and conceding just four on their way to victory.

The team, consisting of Chloe Lant, Nicole Shakhanzarova, Rebecca Smaller, Katarina Weymouth and Lindsay Young secured victories over Ellesmere College and Sheffield High School on Saturday before securing the title with a 10-2 win over The Red Maid’s School.

Queenswood School Team Captain Pam Hall was delighted with the team’s performance: “It was a fantastic weekend for the girls. They have learnt a lot from the competition experience and have worked well as a team with great vocal support from parents and spectators.

I am extremely proud of how they played and conducted themselves on and off the court.”
