Berkshire Girls Gain Promotion After Tight Battle

Berkshire Girls U18 Team came through after an extremely tough challenge to gain promotion from Group 5A in the AEGON 18U County Cup. They won through after three extremely good victories all secured in tense circumstances by the narrowest of margins.

The three day event started with a 5-4 victory against Gloucestershire secured by the final Doubles rubber and this set the tone for what was to follow. The next days victory over Bedfordshire proved to be the biggest margin, 6-3, however, this was still a closely fought encounter which proved a good result for the Team. Although the West of Scotland had to default on the Doubles in the last match to give Berkshire a 5-4 win this should not detract from the hard earned promotion that every player and Captain, Adam Chadwick, assisted by Valerie Holden, thoroughly deserved.
