Clevedon LTC Junior Tournament 2010

Junior tennis players from all over the South West travelled to Clevedon LTC in Avon to take part in this year's Clevedon Junior Championships.

The club's annual open junior tournament was well attended with over 90 entries in categories ranging from 8&U to 18&U.   Held over 5 days, the singles matches were run on a knock-out basis which culminated in the finals on Saturday. 

Spectators were treated to some nail biting points and a very high standard of tennis.  There were also a few marathon  battles including the 18&U semi-final between Clevedon's Seb Hind  and opponent Callum Page who had a gruelling 3 hour, 3 set match on Friday. 

Results:  8 and Under Winner:  Oliver Punt, Runner Up:  Grace Piper;  10&U Boys  Winner: Robbie Davies, Runner Up: Sam Neale; 12&U Boys Winner:  Joel Quinn, Runner Up:  Declan Moran (Clevedon); 14&U Boys Winner:   Miles Chandler, Runner Up:  Kristian Newman; 14&U Girls Winner:  Anya Still, Runner Up:  Stephanie Allen (Clevedon); 16&U Boys Winner:  Miles Chandler, Runner Up:  Seb Hind (Clevedon); 18&U Boys Winner:  George Watson, Runner Up:  Seb Hind,  18&U Girls Winner:  Anya Still, Runner up:  Rhiannon Parsons.

The tournament was run by Clevedon Tennis Club's Director of Coaching, Paul Maggs, and the prizes presented by Club President, Margaret Dyer.
