It is important to link with at least one school or community group to raise awareness of your facility and programme of activity, it also widens your potential talent/membership pool – larger programmes would be expected to link with more than one, but depending on the location and other places to play in the vicinity this can be flexible.
Ideally, you will aim for a comprehensive programme of interaction, including regular tennis activity at the school/group site, visits by the coach and opportunities for participants to play at your place to play. As a minimum, you should give details of your facility to local schools, youth groups, community clubs etc.
There are a full set of resources to help you set up and manage a schools programme in the resources section of the website.
View the resources available.
Also encourage the schools you link with to attend a FREE AEGON Schools Tennis Teacher Training Course. All teachers attending receive resources and information relevant to the type of school they are working in, primary, special or secondary and each school that attends receives a free, AEGON Schools Tennis Equipment Pack (limited to one per school and only if your school has not previously received one). For more information, please visit the Schools Tennis section of the website.
