The Level 3 Coach Qualification is for people who want to work full time within the coaching profession.

The course is 12 days broken down into 4 modules of 3 days. The breaks between modules will be 4-6 weeks to allow coaches time to undertake 27 hours of coaching experience.
During the course candidates will need to work with an LTA Licensed Coach as their mentor. This will involve the mentor helping the candidate to improve their coaching skills through work on the action plan provided by the course tutor. The mentor needs to have agreed to work with the candidate before the course begins.
Introduction to the Coach Qualification, game situations, tactical intentions, the coaching process and the tools to use to improve players performance, lesson structure, communication, organisation.
4-6 week break for a minimum of 9 hours coaching experience with an LTA licensed coach.
Work on 1st4sport Level 3 portfolio.
Mini Tennis red, orange and green guidelines, goal setting, principles of practice, skill acquisition, lesson structure.
Lesson structure and coaching process for specifi c players, physical development, formative assessment, competition.
Completion of Level 3 portfolio.
Behaviour management, working with players with a disability, running a business, Level 3 final sign off.

As part of the Coach Qualification you will spend one day covering The Disability Awareness Course which covers the key information and skills required to be a coach who can deliver tennis sessions to all.

From September 2012 this qualification will be delivered either by the LTA or through an accredited Coach Education Centre.
