AEGON INTERNATIONAL DRAWS TO A CLOSE

THE CHAMPIONSHIPS BEGINS

RESULTS

Men

Roehampton (GBR) – Wimbledon Qualifying
  • Chris Eaton (GBR) & Alex Slabinsky (GBR) qualified for the doubles by beating Rameez Junaid (AUS) & Philipp Marx (GER) 7-6(3) 6-4.
Kuala Lumpur (MYS) – $10k
  • David Rice (GBR) reached the singles semi-final losing to Arnau Brugues-Davi (ESP) 1-6 6-4 2-6.
Prostejov (CZE) – Czech Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships
  • Jamie Burdekin (GBR) won the quad singles title beating Andrew Lapthorne (GBR) 6-4 6-1.
  • Jamie Burdekin (GBR) & Andrew Lapthorne (GBR) won the quad doubles title gaining a walkover against Antony Cotterill (GBR) & John Parfitt (GBR).
  • David Phillipson (GBR) & Ronald Vink (CZE) reached the men’s doubles final losing to Robin Ammerlaan (NED) & Martin Legner (AUT) 2-6 0-6.
A-Coruna (ESP) – Open Internacional Ergosaude Wheelchair Tennis Championships
  • Marc McCarroll (GBR) & Alex Jewitt (GBR) won the men’s doubles title beating Alvara Illobre (ESP) & Martin Varela (ESP) 7-6 6-2.

Women

Roehampton (GBR) – Wimbledon Qualifying
  • Naomi Cavaday (GBR) reached the final round in the singles losing to Vesna Manasieva (RUS) 5-7 2-6.
Alcobaca (POR) – $10k
  • Jade Windley (GBR) & Monica Gorny (RSA) reached the doubles final losing to Shannon Golds (AUS) & Tammi Patterson (AUS) 6-3 2-6 [4-10].

Juniors

Pembroke (BMU) – 18 & Under, ITF Grade 5
  • Alice Hopkins (GBR) reached the girls’ singles semi-final losing to Fausthyara Pietersz (AHO) 0-6 1-6.
  • Elliesa Ball (GBR) & Lee-Anne Lingo (TRI) reached the girls’ doubles final but the match was not played.
  • Alice Hopkins (GBR) & Janine Sutter (SUI) reached the girls’ doubles semi-final losing to Elliesa Ball (GBR) & Lee-Anne Lingo (TRI) 3-6 3-6.
Halle (GER) – 18 & Under, ITF Grade 2
  • Stefan Sterland-Markovic (GBR) & Harry Fowler (USA) reached the boys’ doubles semi-final losing to Sandro Ehrat (SUI) & Alexandru Ioan Georgescu (ROU) 2-6 4-6.
