Tere,
A very early start for everyone today as with matches getting under way at 10am, the practice court was booked at 9am. This to some I’m sure doesn’t sound too bad but when the players were on court until 10pm and so didn’t finish massage, etc… until gone midnight it is a very quick turnaround to be back at your best!
Luckily, the girls were all back at their best and recorded another 3-0 victory to take us within touching distance of a place in the promotion play-off on Saturday.
Without doubt the highlight of the day has to have been Damo (coach) striding onto the centre court here to hit with Bally in his sandals – maybe you had to be here… very funny!
Following on from Bally’s drink mixing fiasco yesterday, we had almost an assembly line production going on today with Soph (physio) and Sarah mixing drinks before passing on to me as chief shaker! The glamour of life at Fed Cup really struck home at that moment!
Final note is from Annie K who has this week officially started a new diet – the chocolate only diet! Every time I’ve seen her over the last 24 hours she’s been eating or about to eat chocolate – it seems to be working so I for one am not complaining.
Tomorrow sees the last round of matches and the draw for the play-offs so hopefully (if we win!) there will be good news to report and some reaction on the news of our final opponents.
Head aega…
