Derek Howorth, President
Derek is a chartered accountant and became a partner of Helmores in 1965. He has vast experience in advising companies, both large and small, and has in-depth knowledge of contracting industries.
He was elected President at the LTA’s Annual General Meeting in December 2008, having previously held the offices of Deputy President and Honorary Treasurer.
Peter Bretherton, Deputy President
Peter was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court in 1970 and was a main board director of a public company. He has served on various LTA committees and boards including National Facilities and Development (now Tennis Operations). He is a member of the Committee of Management of The Championships.
Andrew Crichton, Honorary Treasurer
Andrew joined the LTA Council representing the Channel Islands in 1993 and has served on the Investment and Funding Committees. A qualified accountant, he has gained wide experience in international business affairs and in financial and tax planning. He is currently Chairman of the Caversham Group of Companies providing financial and fiduciary services in Jersey, Geneva and London.
Andrew was President of the CILTA from 1995 to 2004. He was appointed Deputy Honorary Treasurer of the LTA by the Council at its meeting in November 2007 and has been the Honorary Treasurer since 2009.
Val Gooding CBE, Independent Councillor Member
Val Gooding was formerly chief executive of healthcare company BUPA. She is a non-executive director of the Compass Group and Standard Chartered Bank. Val sits on the council of Warwick University and advises Warwick Business School and is a trustee of the British Museum. She was awarded the CBE for services to business in 2002. As one of the independent non-executive directors, Val sits on the Remuneration Committee of the LTA.
Cathie Sabin, Council-Elected Member
Cathie joined the LTA Council representing Shropshire in 2001. She has served on the Education & Young People Committee, the Affiliation Review Group and the National Tennis Operations Advisory & Scrutiny Board.
A retired schoolteacher, Cathie remains involved in schools tennis as a member of the Tennis Foundation Board. She is Chairman of the AEGON Classic pre-Wimbledon tournament (since 2006). She is a qualified referee and holds a number of positions within Shropshire including Child Protection Officer, Lead Volunteer and Chair of the Tournament Committee.
Tony Lemons, Council-Elected Member
Tony Lemons joined the LTA Council in 1998 representing Cambridge University Lawn Tennis Club of which he is an Honorary Vice-President.
Professionally, as Director of Physical Education, he is currently responsible for all aspects of sport at the University of Cambridge including the management of facilities and associated staff, the design and development of new facilities, fundraising, sponsorship, licensing, bursaries and scholarships.
On behalf of the University he exercises general responsibility for all University sports clubs and their activities including varsity matches. He has served on a number of LTA boards and committees including the National Tennis Facilities Divisional Board from 2001-2005 and from 2005-2009 has been a member of the Funding Committee (as Chairman from 2007-2009). Tony is a past Chairman of the British Students Sports Federation and was Chef de Mission of the British Student’s Team. He is a Fellow of Hughes Hall College, Cambridge.
Tom Kinloch, Chairman National Tennis Operations Advisory & Scrutiny Board
Tom joined the LTA Council representing Northumberland in 2000. He has served on the County & Club Committee, the Officiating Committee, the Professional Tennis Advisory & Scrutiny Board, the Affiliation Review Working Party, the County Cup Review Working Party and the Council Retirement Working Party.
As a qualified referee, he is a member of ABTO and holds the ITF Gold Badge. He currently works on the Davis Cup panel of referees and for the ATP as a Challenger Supervisor as well as refereeing domestic events.
A Vice-Chairman of Northumberland LTA Council, he is currently Chairman of the County Disciplinary Committee, Chairman of Northumberland Tennis Academy (HPC) and serves on the County Executive, Tournaments, Finance, Sponsorship and Tennis Operations Committees.
Previously a Council-elected member of the Main Board, Tom succeeded Anne Clark as the Chairman of the National Tennis Operations Advisory & Scrutiny Board in January 2010.
Martin Corrie, Chairman of Professional Tennis Advisory & Scrutiny Board
Martin, a chartered accountant, joined the LTA Council representing Hertfordshire in 2003, where he has been a member since 1993 and Treasurer since 2000. In 2002 he was appointed Chairman of the County Tennis Committee responsible for Talent Identification and Performance Tennis.
Martin served on the LTA Funding Committee before joining the Professional Tennis Advisory and Scrutiny Board of which he was appointed Chairman in 2009. He is also a member of the Investment Committee.
Peter Littlewood, President's Nomination
Peter was formerly Chief Commercial Officer at Allied Domecq PLC, a FTSE 50 company. He also worked for the Mars Corporation for 17 years, where he held a number of senior management positions around the world. He currently serves as Chairman of the Little Wing Trading Company, a start-up business in the consumer products industry.
In 2009, Peter was Chairman of the AEGON Championships at The Queen's Club and from 2007 to 2009 served on the Professional Tennis Advisory and Scrutiny Board. He has also been an advisor on the LTA's new commercial strategy.
Peter is a former runner up in the British Junior Grass Court Championships and played senior county tennis for Middlesex.
Roger Draper, Chief Executive

Roger Draper is the CEO of the LTA. He’s one of the new breed of sports leaders who are applying direct experience of competing as an elite athlete and first-rate business skills and experience to achieve radical improvement in the way sport is run.
Over the past 4 years he has led the transformation of British Tennis, putting in place a practical and widely acclaimed strategy, modernised the organisation, engineered the joining-up of all aspects of the sport and secured new commercial backing. He is now leading a more informed approach to sports business management ensuring the growth of British tennis is sustained and the best return on investment secured.
He has wide experience in the ‘business of sport’, this has included 3 years as CEO of Sport England, leading a major review and reorganisation of the £500m spent on sport in the UK, involvement in the 2012 bid and Team England’s 2006 Commonwealth Games campaign.
As an elite athlete, Roger has gained international honours in both rugby league and tennis. He lives in Surrey with his wife and 2 sons.
Mark Donnelly, Finance Director
Mark joined the LTA in 2009 as Finance Director from The O2, the world’s leading music and sport venue.
Mark joined AEG, the owner of the O2, in 2006 as Finance Director and was part of the senior Executive team which managed the construction and relaunch of the venue – turning the old Millennium Dome into the world’s busiest and most successful venue within 6 months of opening.
During his last 12 months with The O2 Mark moved into a very operational role with day to day responsibility for running the venue and arena and played a key role in securing and promoting major sporting events including the ATP World Tour Finals. Prior to AEG Mark has a wide range of media FD experience including at a private equity backed Outdoor advertising company and national radio/ TV (Virgin Radio and Ginger Media Group). Mark qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 1996.
